Pet owners call.
Too often, nobody picks up.

15.1%

of booking attempts couldn't reach a staff member, and another 8.2% failed after 5+ minutes on hold. Only 67.0% ended with an appointment.1

< 1 in 2

new-client opportunities get booked, compared with about 80% of returning clients, across 568,309 calls at 384 vet locations.2

< 1,000

of 69,227 callers who walked away ever got a callback. Per 100 calls, 26 hung up before reaching anyone.2

Every missed call can walk a client worth thousands to the clinic down the road.

$1,500–$6,000+

working range for a client's lifetime value, roughly $500 a year for about 10 years.4

35.2%

of transfers to staff go unanswered at 1 p.m., vs 19.7% at 8 a.m. The median clinic gets 35 inbound calls a weekday.3

Median lifetime value $2,100–$3,0005; winning a new client costs $80 to $300+, and 78% of practices don't track it.4 PupPilot data comes from a vendor panel, not a random sample.

Part 1: A 24/7 AI receptionist that books into Vetspire.

Powered by Just Holler voice AI and set up around your hours, services and policies. It covers lunch, surgery blocks, nights and weekends, and knows exactly when to hand off to a human.

  • Books real open slots after recognizing the caller and their pets in Vetspire
  • Emergencies go to humans instantly, or to your 24-hour ER after hours
  • Refills become staff tasks for a vet to approve. It never confirms a medication or dose
  • Texts a confirmation to the caller and a summary to your team

  • One page per service and per nearby area, with real content
  • Booking front and center on every page, phone and online

Part 4: Show up in AI answers.

When a pet owner asks an AI assistant for a vet, answer engine optimization (AEO) helps make your clinic the clear, quotable answer: real questions answered on your pages, genuine detailed reviews, and structured data that matches what visitors see. No gimmicks.10

How the Vetspire integration works.

It recognizes the caller and their pets, offers real open slots and leaves refill and callback tasks for your team, all through Vetspire's own GraphQL API.11

  2. Emergency signs?Yes: transfer to your clinic or the 24-hour ER, right away.

Approval first. Vetspire's terms require its written approval and a signed API agreement before a third party can use a clinic's API access.14 We handle that request with your Vetspire admin.

Least privilege. Your key is tied to a narrow role (read clients, patients and schedule; create appointments and tasks), stored encrypted and never emailed.12

Proven path. Another AI receptionist already connects to Vetspire with the same key-and-role setup.15

Recall data. immunizationsDue and lapsingPatients power part 07.13

It triages and routes.
It never diagnoses.

In Texas, a veterinarian-client-patient relationship can't be set up solely by phone or electronic means16, and telemedicine requires one.17 The AVMA allows teletriage and general advice without one.18 So medical decisions stay with your vets.

No medical advice
Never diagnoses, prescribes, or confirms a medication or dose. Medical questions go to staff as tasks.
Emergencies to humans
A clinic-approved list (toxin ingestion, breathing trouble, bloat, seizures, hit by car, straining to urinate, heavy bleeding) triggers an instant transfer, or the nearest 24-hour ER after hours.
Always honest
It says it's an automated assistant, and callers can ask for a person at any time.
Refills need a vet
Refill requests become Vetspire tasks for a veterinarian to approve.
Texas ad rules
Your ads follow 22 TAC §573.30: no guaranteed outcomes, no unverifiable "best vet" claims, no "specialist" unless board-certified.19
Data handled carefully
Least-privilege Vetspire key, stored encrypted. Review requests never come with incentives.

For context: AI receptionist tools alone run $99–$499/mo202122, and full-service vet marketing generally runs $2,000–$5,000/mo before ad spend.26 We didn't find anyone else bundling an AI receptionist, practice-software booking and marketing in one package.

What would answering every call be worth?

This counts only the new clients the receptionist recovers, so the other six parts come on top. Defaults come from the research, and our assumptions are labeled.

Live in about 30 days.

Timing depends mostly on how fast Vetspire approves the integration. You review everything before the AI books a single visit.

  2. Vetspire approvalYour admin asks Vetspire to approve the integration, creates the role and API key (sent via a secure form) and picks what the AI can book.

Questions clinics ask.

What's included in the package?

Everything, in one package: a 24/7 AI receptionist that books into Vetspire, a new website, local SEO and Google Business Profile, AEO for AI search answers, Google Ads, Meta ads, and reviews and recall campaigns, plus a monthly report and strategy call. There are no tiers or add-ons.

How much does it cost?

$2,497 a month plus a one-time $3,500 setup. Ad spend is separate and you pay it directly to Google and Meta.

Will the AI receptionist give medical advice?

No. It triages and routes. It never diagnoses, prescribes, or confirms a medication or dose. Medical questions become tasks for your team.

What happens in an emergency?

A clinic-approved list of emergency signs, such as toxin ingestion, breathing trouble, bloat, seizures, being hit by a car, straining to urinate or heavy bleeding, triggers an immediate transfer to your team. After hours, callers are given your preferred 24-hour ER.

Does it work with Vetspire?

Yes, through Vetspire's API. It looks up open slots, books appointments and creates staff tasks. Vetspire requires its written approval for third-party integrations, and we handle that request with your Vetspire admin.

We use ezyVet, Cornerstone, AVImark or Shepherd. Can it still book?

Often, yes. Booking integrations exist for those systems through partners such as Vetstoria and PetDesk, and ezyVet also has its own API. We scope it per clinic.

Is there a long contract?

No. The package is month-to-month. Ad spend is paid by you directly to Google and Meta, separate from our fee.

Who owns the website and ad accounts?

Your clinic does. We build and manage them in your name, so they stay yours.

How long does it take to go live?

About 30 days, depending mostly on how quickly Vetspire approves the integration. That includes a shadow week where the AI only creates tasks and your staff review transcripts before booking is switched on.

Let's grow your clinic.

Book a 15-minute demo. We'll walk through your call flow, your Vetspire setup, your local search and what the numbers could look like for your clinic.
